A common Portuguese expression says that people from Braga never close the doors. While it is used to express disapproval of a bad habit, its origin is much different.

The Arco da Porta Nova (or Arch of the New Door, in English) was built in the 16th century and was supposed to be the door to Braga. However, as the city had expanded beyond its walls and the country was in peace, no actual door was placed.

EYP sessions take some time to plan, and Braga 2017 is no exception. The Head-organisers started the preparations for Braga 2017 last December and, with that, they payed a visit to the city in order to meet with partners and possible venues.

With a few months to go and the help of their team of Organisers (which you will meet very soon!), the preparations are in full swing and we can’t wait for April!

Dear EYPers,

It is our pleasure to officially open the Facebook page for Braga 2017! For the 36th National Selection Conference of EYP Portugal, we will be going back to Braga, a city that has hosted us so well for past sessions. The session will take place from the 20th to the 23rd of April.

As a celebration gift, you can now have the theme of the session: "Actions – the Barycenters of Asymmetrical Society"

Barycentre is a centre of mass between two bodies that orbit each other, or around the barycentre.
