Extended Preliminary Round Delft 2019

11/01/2019 to 13/01/2019
 CET

The fourth and last Extended Preliminary Round of EYP the Netherlands in 2018-2019 will take place in Delft from the 11th to 13th of January for Officials.

An Extended Preliminary Round starts on Friday for the Officials, with an afternoon of CMO training. The delegates arrive on Saturday morning for Teambuilding and Committee Work. There will be eight committees and eight solo chairpersons. On Saturday evening there will be Eurovillage and an evening programme. General Assembly will be held on Sunday. Editors will head a small media team and the delegates will be selected by a small Jury.

"For the past few months, we have been working with undying enthusiasm to make Delft 2019 a reality. We are now extremely excited to open the call for Officials who share our enthusiasm to make this the best possible Session. The key word for our Session is value: the value for participants, the value of their contribution and the value of our Session for the world. Parts of this are a sufficiently high academic level, close-knit teams with lots of positivity and a very sustainable session. We are looking for officials who share this vision and are willing to work with us on improving and implementing it, and can find the balance between fun and academics. This will all happen in the beautiful city of Delft: our favourite Dutch city, and, in the future, hopefully yours as well."
- Head Organisers Hannah Wessels and Jelmer de Haan.

The past year, the Preliminary Rounds of EYP the Netherlands engaged over 230 high school students from all across the Netherlands. This would not have been possible without our supporters and partners.

First and foremost we want to thank Gemeente Delft, the municipality of the city of Delft, for supporting us and our programme. Bas Vollebregt from the student party is alderman for Delft for Culture and International Policy, among other things. He spoke to our participants on the 13th of December.

The last media project of the Diffoe Media Team was already presented during the GA on Sunday, and can now be enjoyed online as well. Frederique Buining and Emily Grünendieck made a video in which they pranked a number of participants of the Preliminary Round in Delft. Have fun watching and make sure to check any warning signs around cookies!

The fourth Preliminary Round was hosted in a small Amsterdam-like city hidden between Den Haag and Rotterdam: Delft! With it's typical cannals and prestiges houses and churches it's a really good looking city. And it has more in common with our organisation than you would expect. Frederique Buining and Luke De Laceyacey explored the similarities between EYP and Delft in this Media Project. Enjoy watching!

Last weekend's session was led by a passionate group of 6 youngsters, making up the Leadership. As the delegates don't get to see them much, the Media Team decided to narrow the gap and recreated the famous Friends intro with Hannah Wessels, Jelmer de Haan, Janis Fifka, Mariam Kunchuliya, Cilia Baanstra and Joris Dietz. It was shown during the Saturday Evening Programm and as the audience received it so well, we proudly present it to you here as well!
