Extended Preliminary Round Haarlem 2018

30/11/2018 to 02/12/2018

An Extended Preliminary Round starts on Friday for the Officials, with an afternoon of CMO training. The delegates arrive on Saturday morning for Teambuilding and Committee Work. There will be eight committee’s and eight solo chairpersons. On Saturday evening there will be Eurovillage and an evening program. General Assembly will be held on Sunday. Editors will head a small media team and the delegates will be selected by a small Jury.

The third Extended Preliminary Round of EYP the Netherlands in 2018-2019 will take place in Haarlem from 30th of November to 2nd of December 2018 for Officials.

"Our session will take place in Haarlem, a beautiful historical town, with a somewhat medieval character. Not too big, but with all facilities, it is a perfect town for one of the Dutch Preliminary Rounds! We aim to have an inclusive session, that establishes and maintains an equal relationship between officials and delegates. We want to make the diversity of delegates feel included and an integral part of the session. Furthermore, we want to stretch this inclusion to the officials team, to establish not four separate teams, but one unity, working closely together to make this session an unforgettable experience for both delegates and officials. We aspire efficient communication between the teams, and will have extensive inter-teambuilding."
- Head Organisers Bente Vissel and Dorith Blijleven

Did you know that...

💡... Cape Horn, the most southerly point of the Americas, was named after the town of Hoorn?

💡... Breda was the home city of the Dutch royal family for a while, and almost became the capital of the Netherlands?

💡... Haarlem was appointed the best city in The Netherlands to go shopping?

💡... Delft once had 200 beer breweries and one sixth of its people worked in the beer industry?

With a lot of excitement and pride we would like to present the final logo's of the 2018-2019 Preliminary Rounds of EYP the Netherlands. They have been designed by Head of Design Sofie de Jong

Behind every logo is a story, and our logo's link to the history and unique character of every city.

Hoorn: During Holland's 'Golden Age', the port of Hoorn was an important home base for the Dutch East India Company and a very prosperous centre of trade. The ships of the Hoorn fleet plied the seven seas and returned laden with precious commodities.

We are still looking for Presidents, Editors and Heads of Jury for this year’s Extended Preliminary Rounds! You have 36 hours left to apply!

The Head Organisers have worked tirelessly on their sessions and are now looking for equal leadership to help shape these projects further. Their vision focusses on welfare and personal development, with many sessions scheduling extra time for Officials’ training, creating one Officials’ team and equal leadership. Sessions also strive towards sustainibility, and one session will even have a meatless diet.
