Education and Employment Activating Young European Citizens

Since 2008, the Regional Sessions of EYP Finland have been a gateway to the world of EYP for hundreds of students in Finland. They have also gained a solid reputation as high-quality events among the international EYP community, as indicated by the high number of applications for Officials’ posts in the recent years. In 2017, the Regional Sessions act as preliminary round of the National Session of EYP Finland, to be held in Turku in January 2018.

Jyväskylä 2017 – Regional Session of EYP Finland will be held on 27–29 October in the city of Jyväskylä in central Finland. Officials are expected to arrive one day prior to the session for teambuilding and training. The session is Head Organised by Oona Huttunen and Anni Niemelä. The session is presided by Jakob Gutschlhofer (AT). The patrons of the Session are the former minister of defence Elisabeth Rehn, Member of the Parliament Touko Aalto and Chairman of the education and culture committee of Jyväskylä Irina Tuokko.

It is my pleasure to preside the Regional Session Jyväskylä 2017, to get the chance to inspire Finnish youngsters from a region I will be definitely having trouble pronouncing yet showing them the meaning and the importance of active citizenship

The session will gather around 120 participants and the programme includes one day of Teambuilding, one day of Committee Work and a day of General Assembly. The theme of the session is Education and Employment Activating Young European Citizens.
