Novi Sad 2018 - 11th National Selection Conference of EYP Serbia
Building Bridges, Connecting People
This event will gather over 150 participants from Serbia and the international EYP network. They will meet in the European Youth Capital 2019, Novi Sad, in the beginning of July to take part in the biggest annual event organised by European Youth Parliament Serbia.
For this year’s umbrella theme of the 11th NSC of EYP Serbia, we chose the motto “Building Bridges – Connecting People”. The source of inspiration for this theme is the new bridge which will be completely built in 2018 in Novi Sad, and which was taken down in NATO bombings of Yugoslavia in 1999. The construction of the new bridge (which is almost identical with the demolished one) symbolises reconnection of the people across the two river banks and overcoming racial, religious, and national differences, exactly like in the novels of the only Serbian Nobel prize winner – Ivo Andrić. We wanted to use this strong symbolism to emphasize the renovation of regional and national cooperation with the nations and countries we once considered enemies and the necessity of new economic, cultural and diplomatic relations in the future. We – members of the EYP, as ones of the most proactive actors in these dynamic processes, see ourselves as key actors in the future, and realise that the informal education, which we also achieve through this conference, is an important factor in creating a new generation of intellectual group of leaders in Europe and the world.
The session will be head-organised by Jelena Valentik and Srđan Hromiš and presided by Arman Gasparyan. Should you have any questions regarding the event you may contact them over the official e-mail address of the session email@example.com.
