07/04/2019 to 11/04/2019

United for Change - Making our future the purpose of our present

Schengen 2019 - 6th National Selection Conference of the European Youth Parliament (EYP) Luxembourg will take place from April 8th until April 11th 2019, in the town of Schengen, where in 1985, the Schengen Agreement was signed. It will gather over 110 young people from all around the European Union, to discuss many relevant topics which concern our youth today. The session will be lead under the organisation of Jim Riewer, Isabella Siry and their team of motivated organisers, along with the leadership team and their individual teams.

"We often experience moments in our life when we felt not heard, especially as young people. Nevertheless, I believe everyone should be able to express their opinion. At EYP we do have the opportunity to speak up but we shouldn’t forget that being heard goes along with listening to each other.
During the media team evening, the delegates had the chance to take the time to carefully listen to the silence and realise that listening is the key to be heard.

This is a project done by one of the Media Team Members of the 6th National Selection Conference of EYP Luxembourg in Schengen, Elizabete. It is titled Reflection of vulnerability.

When you look someone directly into their eyes and ask how they are feeling, nothing shows more of their personality than the eyes do. Eyes show whether we are shining, doing our best or are vulnerable and going through something. This video is inspired by a poem by Rupi Kaur and aims to stimulate to do good to yourself and others, be the best version of yourself and find purpose in the things we do.

Project by Vanessa LaGrange "I wanted to come up with a way to reflect the many wonderful souls of Schengen 2019. Capturing the beauty of a soul is nearly impossible through photography so I decided to capture the beauty of the participants' eyes instead. Eyes are the windows to the soul and with this project, I have tried to capture the reflection of some beautiful souls from this session."

“United for change - Making the Future the Purpose of our Presence.” With such a poignant session theme, it’s important to look to the future fearlessly and with hope. Here are some of the wonderful participants that came together to celebrate all that gave them hope for the coming days and years. A project by Grace Keane O'Connor
