Contemporary education in an ever - changing world; Rethinking the approach of modern education systems in a rapidly progressing society

The 38th National Selection Conference of EYP Greece was held in the city of Thessaloniki between the 14th and 17th of December, with the Officials' Training taking place on the 13th, and gathering 120 Delegates from Northern, Western, Eastern and Central regions of Greece, as well as an international team of Officials.

Thessaloniki '18 was designed as a 4-day-session, held under the umbrella topic: "Contemporary education in an ever-changing world; Rethinking the approach of modern education systems in a rapidly progressing society", giving its participants the chance to engage in political dialogue, broaden their thinking and ultimately, reshape education themselves through various cultural activities.

The Head Organisers of the Session were Mr. Nikolaos Alexiadis (GR), Mr. Vasileios Fragios (GR), Ms. Elisavet Sidiropoulou (GR) and Ms. Eirini Papadopoulou (GR) as the Executive Board Member of EYP Greece. The session was presided by Mr. Michael Ernst (AT).

Making a session with about 170 participants possible takes time, engagement and patience from the EYP organising team – and external support, too!

Thus, today a big thank you goes out to all the sponsors of Thessaloniki 2018! The Theta media team has created an album to showcase how immensely valuable the various support was, that the session received. Please have a look here: https://goo.gl/28uNeq

Almost two weeks have passed since Thessaloniki 2018 was officially closed. We hope you had time to indulge in reminiscences a bit and that your memories of the days spent with all the people who were eager to #turnthepage together have found a place close to your heart. As the last piece of work, we would like to gift you with the very farewell video of the session! It brings closure to what TEACH, LEARN and ENACT could have meant in this very experience.

With the last projects of the Theta media team being uploaded soon, it's time to start with some thank you's: The hidden heroes of every EYP session are indeed the members of the organising team. Thus, the following cover of the famous song "Thank you, next!" is dedicated to them and the 38th National Selection Conference of European Youth Parliament Greece - Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο Νέων Ελλάδος. The aim of this project was to capture unique portraits of officials of Thessaloniki 2018 in various locations we encountered during the event. The hope is that they will get a great photo while other participants can look at the photos and relive special moments of the session.

Just as how much there has already been to read, see and think on here on the session page, it was for all participants in Thessaloniki. The second part of the 'Thessaloniki Vlogs' series guides us through the first days of Thessaloniki 2018. Have a look!

What did an experience in your education TEACH you? The Theta media team interviewed delegates and officials to showcase how impactful people and institutions in our young age are - be it in an empowering or discouraging way. However that may be, we definitely LEARN something from it that we carry on.

Sometimes, a pose or a facial expression captures a statement better than words. So for "Show me", our last project from the issue, the Theta media team has reached out to delegates and photographed their answers to questions that relate to the session's theme.

This stream project was accompanied by instagram boomerangs @thessaloniki.nsc about what young people expect from European politicians.

What's left is to come to conclusions how young people can ENACT themselves to achieve what they wish for.

As the third part of the Theta media team tryptch ENACT focused on the things we are taking from educational experiences and what we can realize when we are following our ideas and thoughts. The following video asks the participants of Thessaloniki 2018 to never stop doing exactly that – to enact.
