Zaragoza 2019 - 14th National Selection Conference of EYP España
'Empowering the youth'
Zaragoza 2019 will be the 14th National Selection Conference of EYP España and it will take place in Zaragoza from April 2nd to April 7th under the session theme 'Empowering the Youth'. It will be head organised by Marina Bueno, Susana Carreras and Elena Vela. Almost 100 delegates coming from 11 regions of Spain will meet at Zaragoza to debate about how to empower youth.
Youth, on the spotlight
Zaragoza 2019, is wholeheartedly conscious that the youth is the future of Europe and, essentially, the future of society. We are the ones who will face tomorrow’s issues; we are the ones who will make the decisions and we are the ones who will shape our world and guide it in what seems to be an era of perplexity, where time seems to fly and technologies seem to advance faster than we do.
Zaragoza, the best environment
Zaragoza is a city located in the north-east of Spain. Throughout history, it has been under the domain of the Roman Empire (I century A.D), the visigoths and the Muslim (from VIII century to XII), before it became the capital of Aragon’s Kingdom. Located just in the middle between Madrid and Barcelona, it has always been a key spot in the Spanish political, social and economic reality.
Empowering the youth, our mission
We are fully aware that, for the youth to be prepared to face all the controversy that is coming into place, we firstly need to learn, to listen and to understand. And that is our main objective in Zaragoza 2019. We want to empower the youth through knowledge and experience. We want to provide them with tools to become more critical with the world around them.
We want Zaragoza 2019 to be a life-changing experience where not only the participants will feel empowered throughout the session, but they will also end up being deeply conscious of the importance of being self-critic with our surroundings. We want the participants to understand that we cannot wait for society to make changes, to take big steps; but we can only step up ourselves and, by taking small steps, create big changes in that so called “society”.
