Our colleague Kerstin joined a Training for new EU Crash Course trainers in Baku, Azerbaijan last weekend. We are happy to implement the project together with European Youth Parliament Azerbaijan and bring an understanding and a discussion about the history, actors and competences of the European Union to the Caucasus region.

This week the first part of the Vienna and Belgrade 2016 - EYP International Forums is taking place in the Austrian capital, bringing together 150 participants from 32 countries. It is supported by the OSCE – The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe's German Chairmanship in 2016. Therefore the European Youth Parliament welcomed also 20 delegates from non-European OSCE countries: the United States, Canada, and Central Asia!

NC Support Fund 2016 - Call for applications

The International Office is excited to launch a second small NC Support Fund of 8.000 EUR for 2016!

All National Committees, Candidate National Committees and EYP Initiatives are eligible to apply for funding and there are two priority areas for the fund, based on two of the four focus areas of our long-term strategy:
A) Outreach and inclusion activities (4.000eur for this area)
B) Capacity-building and administrative costs for (newer) National Committees (4.000eur for this area)

Braga 2016: Euro-Ibero-American Youth Forum is the first International Forum of EYP Portugal since 2009 and will be held from August 22 to August 28 in Braga, the Ibero-American Youth Capital in 2016. The event organised by PEJ - Portugal will be attended by 170 university students from all over Europe and the 21 member states of the International Youth Body for Ibero-America.

In the vivid debates and interactive workshops of this weekend's BNC meeting the representatives of 37 National Committees contributed actively to further developing the EYP network, its activities, policies and strategies. With a record number of 37 National Committees present, we have opened today the Board of National Committees (BNC) meeting in Berlin. During this weekend, the BNC will share knowledge from across the network and reach decisions on many burning topics, such as gender balance at our events. The clear highlight of today was confirming the recognition of EYP Slovenia as a full member!

It is time for elections again - this time both for the Board of National Committees, General Assembly of all EYP countries; as well as the Governing Body, our strategic board. We are now looking for interested and eager candidates to come forward until Sunday 29 May - anyone interested can step forward as a candidate!

Elections to the BNC Board and the GB

In June 2016, elections both to the BNC Board and early GB elections will take place.

In the BNC Board elections, we are looking for a new chairperson and one or two vice-chair, to facilitate and coordinate the work of the Board of National Committees, BNC, for the next two meetings and the upcoming year.

In the early GB elections, we are looking for two persons to replace the vacant seats of Hans Maes and Anya Suprunenko, due to their early resignation from the GB. The term in office for these two people on the GB is until the end of December 2016.

Anya Suprunenko hired as new Project Manager

Anya Suprunenko has been hired as Project Manager for International Sessions and the EYP International Office. She will join the team on 20 June 2016 and replace our current Project Manager Stefan Vandenhende.

Anya is an Ukrainian EYPer, former president of EYP Ukraine, head organiser of ASK International Forum, and is currently serving on the Governing Body. She is living in Berlin, graduating the Hertie School of Governance in a few weeks with a masters’ degree in Public Policy.
